PRE RACE

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS RACE INFORMATION
This is the Final Race Information document and as such provides you with everything you need to know in the build up to the DaBKA Round Donny Run 2018. This information is subject to change on the grounds of safety, however, it should be read carefully to ensure you know what is expected of you on the day of the event.

WELCOME
The DaBKA Round Donny Run will have all the elements that you would expect from Balanced Coaching, including electronic timing, professional event medical cover, high quality medals and goodie bags!

The route will be starting and finishing on the Doncaster Town Field. You will be starting and finishing your own timing at the beginning and end of each stage, there will be marshals at each of these points.

CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY
All successful entrants will have received an email direct from our entry providers – Si Events, this is your confirmation of entry. If you are unsure of anything please get in touch via tony@balancedcoaching.co.uk

RACE RULES & APPEALS

The event will be held under the rules of UK Athletics. Under these rules it is mandatory that all competitors are insured by third party civil liability insurance- Members are insured as part of their affiliation package, and all other competitors will be requires to pay a £2 non-affiliation fee (when entering the event) to ensure that they have the relevant civil liability insurance. WITHDRAWALS

If you wish to withdraw from the event, please follow the guidelines contained within our “Terms and Conditions of Entry”. Please note that under no circumstances will any refund/race credit be issued without following these guidelines. No race credits/refund will be issued to those withdrawing after the withdrawal date of 23rd June. Please note that you are not permitted to exchange your entry to someone else after 23rd June.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

In line with UKA Rules, to be eligible to take part in this race, competitors must be at least 18 years old on or before the event date.

EVENT OFFICE CLOSURE

The event office will be closed from Thursday at 16:00. Please do not send emails regarding this event after this time, as we will be on site and unable to answer your messages.

RACE VOLUNTEERS-PLEASE HELP

No event like this can run smoothly without the help of many marshals. If you have friends or family that will be supporting you at the event, why not ask them if they would be willing to give up a couple of hours to help marshal.

ON THE MORNING OF THE RACE

GETTING TO THE EVENT

The main HQ for the event will be the Pavilion, Thorne Road. This is where registration, stage enquiries area, bag storage, toilets, first aid and catering will be located.

Please note – there is no parking at the start venue. However we have arrangements for car parking at Doncaster School for the Deaf which is located just off the A18 Leger Way. See the map below

You will need to be ready to start the race at 9am prompt and we suggest you are ready at the start at 8:45. We are asking you to position yourselves accordingly with those who feel that they are fast (2-3hours) to line up at the rear and those who think they will take 3-4 hours to complete the race to line up at the front of the field.

DURING THE RACE

You are all reminded to follow the marshals instructions and that you obey the highway code at all times.

Please be a responsible athlete and do not throw any rubbish away except for in the designated areas. Balanced Coaching would like to leave Doncaster cleaner than it was before we arrived so your help with that will be gratefully appreciated.

It is your responsibility to start your time and to stop your time at the end of each stage using the dibber provided at the docking stations.

There will be drinks available at the Boat Inn, Warmsworth (relay point 1), Bessacarr (relay point 2) and Cantley Park as well as the finish.

If you feel unwell at any stage of the race please advise an official so that first aid can be provided quickly. Should you wish to withdraw from the race please advise a race official and make sure that a note of your name and race number is made. We will endeavour to get you back to the start/finish area should this happen.

For those athletes who are running as a pair, you need to be together at the start and finish of each stage.

For the athletes who are running as a relay team, you need to ensure that the timing dibber is passed safely between your members. We recommend that you organise your own transport to get you to and from the relay changeover points. See the maps below.
